IFSA-Butler COO Contributes to Huffington Post Article Print E-mail

Joanna Holvey Bowels, IFSA-Butler senior vice president and chief operating officer, was quoted in a Huffington Post online article regarding the affect recent travel advisories are having on summer study abroad programs in Mexico.

A travel advisory extended twice since March finds colleges tasked with determining whether to continue studies in areas not affected by the violence or to suspend all programs in the country until the advisory is lifted. Read the full article here.

The Southern Highland News, a newspaper in New South Wales, Australia, published an article this week about berry farm owners who welcome IFSA-Butler students onto their farm. Each semester, IFSA-Butler offers Australia students the opportunity to take part in a country life day so that students can experience authentic rural life in Australia. Read the article.

IFSA-Butler students are giving back to their host communities abroad through service learning. From teaching English to working in orphanages to helping with sustainability projects, our service learning opportunities can accommodate nearly any major or area of interest. Learn more.
 
New! Internships at University College London Print E-mail
IFSA-Butler is now offering an anthropology, public health and politics internship through University College London. The internship is offered through UCL's Global Health and Anthropology departments. Placements are available in government, non-profits, businesses and community organizations. Interns work on a project of their choice and also take a short course through UCL's Department of Anhropology.

Interns may be any major, but internship projects must focus on anthropology, public health or politics.

Participating organizations vary, but past employers have included the British Ministry of Defence, Médecins du Monde, and Marie Stopes International.
